Women who undergo IVF increase their chances of pregnancy if they are treated with acupuncture, a new analysis suggests.
The benefits of Acupuncture for fertility treatments may be huge :
- 65 per cent increase in the chance of becoming pregnant
- 91 % increase in the number of live births.
- 87 % increase in continuing the pregnancy.

This is great news for women having assisted fertility treatment such as IVF, ICSI, IUI, Egg or Sperm donation.
In China there exists huge databases of research into the benefits of acupuncture. Unfortunately this remains largely inaccessible and may not conform to Western medical requirements. However, as new research begins to provide quantifiable evidence of traditional acupuncture’s efficacy and cost-effectiveness, the body of evidence available internationally is growing rapidly.
